Students can sign up for a MyOUSL account and access the links provided for Regional Centres, Study centres and Online support. You can also access your personal details, payment details and final exam applications through MyOUSL. The system also allows you to view your courses online. Having a MyOUSL account gives you access to your online moodle courses.
Students MyOUSL
The MyOUSL application is an online learning platform that enables students to access their moodle courses, personal details, payment details, and final exam applications. It is available to all OUSL students. In addition, students can sign up for online courses and complete them from home. Students may also attend the OUSL’s regional centers.
OUSL was established in 1978 under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 to promote higher education for working adults. It enjoys the same legal status as any other national university in Sri Lanka. It is headed by Prof. P.M.C. Thilakerathne and Professor Sasikala Kugamoorthy and is based in the Faculty of Education.
Regional centres MyOUSL
Regional centres are the hubs of regional activity, commerce, and identity. They contain a mix of commercial and residential uses, as well as amenities. They are designed to encourage walkability and improve the quality of life in the local community. For this reason, regional centres are usually defined as high-density areas.
To help regional centres become more efficient and effective, the Open University of Sri Lanka recently organized a three-day training workshop. This training workshop covered key areas of regional centre operations, including student recruitment and admissions, budget planning and human resource recruitment. Other topics covered included the development of programs and learning facilities.
Study centres
Students who want to study in an open university in Sri Lanka have a variety of options. For example, students can enroll for a course at one of the MyOUSL study centres or apply for a distance learning course. Applicants may also choose to enroll in a hybrid course that combines both online and offline learning. The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) also operates a network of libraries for students. These libraries are located in each Study Center. They are open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. They are closed on Full Moon Poya Days.
Apart from its main campus in Colombo, OUSL has various study centres across Sri Lanka. These centres have a total enrollment of between 1,000 and 6,000 students. It has a multi-media teaching system and incorporates printed course material, audio visual aids, discussions, tutor clinics, and web-based learning. The study system also incorporates final examinations and continuous assessments.
