Rankin County School District uses PowerSchool
The Rankin County School District, Mississippi, recently chose Pearson’s PowerSchool as its new web-based student information system. It will serve more than 17,500 students, the third largest school district in Mississippi. The district is also implementing the SASI Customer First program to ensure the system is a good fit for its unique needs. Students login with their network (Groupwise) user name and password
Once students have successfully logged into their network, they should be able to access their MyData Portal account. The steps to do this differ by model, so it’s important to know the specifics of your email program. GroupWise emails will be stored in the “Email Retainer” for a certain amount of time before they are deleted. Luckily, students can choose to save emails as PDF files or print them out to keep for longer. Students should note that their network (Groupwise) user name and password can only be used from within the school network. This means that if a student uses the internet outside the school network, they cannot access their email.
Parents log in with their Office 365 user name and password
If you want to access your child’s information, you’ll need to log in to the Powerschool Ecsd Parent Portal with your Office 365 user name and password. The portal is free to use and you can add as many as 7 students to your account. To log in, you’ll need to request an Access ID and password from your child’s school. When you log in, you’ll see the students and teachers’ names at the top. You can click on a name to email that teacher. You can also view your child’s progress in any class and get notifications.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see a list of your child’s information. You can choose to view any or all of your child’s information. In addition to grades, you can view detailed assignment descriptions, school bulletins, lunch menus, and even personal messages from your child’s teacher. Your password should be eight characters long and contain at least one letter and a number.
