MHSDA: What You Need to Know About the Health Insurance Marketplace
The Marketplace is a website that helps you compare health insurance plans and rates.
When you go to the Marketplace, you will need to provide your name, email address, and zip code. You will then be able to enter your current health insurance plan information.
After you have entered your information, the Marketplace will show you different plans and rates. You can also compare plans based on your location, age, income level, and health conditions.
If you are interested in a particular plan, you can click on the plan to learn more about it. The Marketplace also has a tool called MyPlanner which helps you create a budget and track your costs over time.
The Marketplace is open from October 1st until January 31st each year. After January 31st, you can still find information about healthcare plans online, but you will not be able to comparison shop for plans or enroll in a new policy until the next open enrollment period begins in October of the following year.

MHSDA Updates: The State Of Mental Health Insurance In America
The Mental Health Services and Development Administration (MHSDA) just released their annual report on mental health insurance in America. The report paints a bleak picture of the state of mental health insurance coverage in this country. In 2017, only about one-third of Americans with mental illness had any form of coverage, whether through an employer-sponsored plan or a government program like Medicaid.
This is still significantly better than the situation in 1990, when just over half of Americans with serious mental illness had any form of coverage. But progress has been slow and there are still far too many people who don’t have access to quality mental health care.
One reason for the slow progress is that mental health care is often see as a low priority by employers and governments. We need to change this attitude if we want to see more people getting the treatment they need.
There are a few things that we can do to help make progress on this issue. First, we need to make sure that our laws are properly addressing mental health issues. We need to make it easier for people to get Treatment for Mental Illness (TMI) without fear of discrimination or stigma. And we need to make sure that government programs like Medicaid are providing adequate coverage for people with mental illnesses.
These are all important steps towards improving access to quality mental health care for everyone in America.”
